About Marques

Marques A. Eason is the founder and managing partner of The Law Offices of Marques A. Eason, LLC. A Chicago native, Mr. Eason envisioned a law firm that focused on providing high-quality legal representation that would achieve unique objectives tailored to each individual client, while still maintaining a close, customer-service based relationship with each client as well.

Mr. Eason obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (Atlanta, Georgia). Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Eason was employed in a number of diverse business areas, including technology, higher education, human resources, and professional and intercollegiate athletics. He has also worked for numerous Fortune 500 corporations (Coca-Cola, Deloitte, General Electric) and a number of NCAA Institutions and professional sports teams, including the Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, University of Illinois Football, University of Miami Athletics, Georgia Tech Athletic Association, and the North Carolina A&T State University Department of Athletics.

Mr. Eason has represented a variety of clients in the areas of family law, entertainment, real estate, and wills and probate. As a father of two daughters, and a grandfather, he is an advocate of father’s rights. However, he is also a passionate advocate at defending and protecting the rights of the disadvantaged spouse in divorce proceedings, ensuring that child support and parenting allocation arrangements are consistent with the “best interests of the child” standard, and strives to make sure that all final divorce judgments are inclusive of a division of assets and property that is fair and equitable given the unique circumstances of each individual client.

Mr. Eason has and continues to represent a vast variety of clients, including, but not limited to, singer-artists, song-writers, musicians, athletes, creative writers, entrepreneurs, small business owners, stylists, graphic designers, doctors, and other business professionals as well. He has successfully negotiated numerous investment and real estate agreements, corporate formations, artist performance and employment agreements, licensing and promotion agreements, marital and corporate settlement agreements. He has also aggressively and zealously represented client’s interest against large corporations and municipalities, as well as defended clients against in a variety of family, real estate, and other civil litigation matters, and has received numerous dismissals and favorable outcomes to the satisfaction of his clients. He is a passionate advocate for all of his clients and has earned the reputation as a beast when it comes to meeting or exceeding the full satisfaction and expectation of his clients as well.

Mr. Eason is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Cook County Bar Association, the Gate City Bar Association, and the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association. Mr. Eason is admitted to practice before all state courts in the State of Illinois, and the General Bar for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
