I am a seasoned attorney, professor and entrepreneur. My academic credentials include an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Legal Studies from the City University of New York, and Doctorate in Jurisprudence from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where I was a Heyman Scholar, focusing on corporate and commercial law. In my earlier work as a senior/supervising paralegal in two Tier 1 firms, I had a caseload consisting of large corporate transactions (IPOs, M&A, Asset Purchase, Letters of Credit/Factoring Agreements, IP Registration and Licensing, Corporate Governance and Real Estate), and SEC, Antitrust and IP litigation. My private practice has a focus on start-ups (for- and non-profit), Corporate Governance/HR, Contracts, Real Estate (Sales and Landlord-Tenant), and Tax Preparation, litigation in these areas, and in the areas of Construction and Consumer Credit. I also have a small Family Law caseload with a focus on equality and rights for fathers. For well over 15 years I have been drafting of a myriad of contracts (and was a former Research Assistant for Corbin on Contracts), dozens of well-researched briefs and memoranda, and pleadings for various proceedings and motions. For an equal amount of time, I have performed document reviews (electronic and manual) including 1st and 2nd pass, 1st and 2nd level, redactions, quality control, confidentiality/privilege/log and PII/PHI. On the academic side, I have been a professor/instructor of various business and law topics in vocational, undergraduate, graduate and professional/continuing education institutions. When there is time to divert my attention from law practice, I teach Cardio Kickboxing, bake, cook and make short trips to new places with my family.
