Your safety, health, and well-being during these challenging times is our priority. We're all in this together and know that struggling to balance one's work, personal life, anxiety, and self-care while keeping worries under control is challenging, even more with the uncertainty of the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Fear and anxiety about the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children. But you are not alone, and you don’t have to go it alone. In general, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that you monitor your stress levels and those of your family and loved ones during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It is common to experience the following types of stress during an infectious disease outbreak such as this coronavirus pandemic:

  • Fear and worry about your own health and the health of your loved ones
  • Changes in sleep or eating patterns
  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating
  • Worsening of chronic health problems
  • Worsening of mental health conditions
  • Increased use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs

If you, or those you are close to, experience any of these symptoms, please know that you are experiencing the same sort of stress that all of us are experiencing together during this coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. If your stress persists or becomes severe, it is important to get help.

You can get help for your physical, medical and mental health during these times, including support groups to connect with. Your General Practitioner can help and can provide you with referrals to mental health professionals, as well as support groups. The CDC has useful links for people and organizations to contact in times of crisis. Please visit
