Meet Neil Opdahl-Lopez, a Court Buddy Legal Meet-Up Panelist

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, LawChamps is hosting monthly virtual Legal Meet-Ups to help people get advice from real lawyers on pressing legal topics. The Meet-Ups are run in a panel format, mediated by LawChamps' Chief Legal Officer Jennifer McGlone, who asks the panelists questions submitted by you, our LawChamps users.

On Friday, June 26 at 1:00 PM, LawChamps will be hosting a free virtual Legal Meet-Up to answer all rent and eviction-related questions that individuals and small business owners may have. You can sign up online here or call us at (866) 999-9297.

As a panelist, Neil Opdahl-Lopez will address any concerns you may have about landlord-tenant issues and unlawful detainers. After participating as a panelist in our May Legal Meet-Up, Opdahl-Lopez was eager to join again.

He says, “The breadth and comprehensive coverage that we were able to provide was amazing. We had resident experts on so many topics.”

As his boutique law firm The Law Offices of Neil Opdahl-Lopez, Esq, Opdahl-Lopez works together with one paralegal to meet all of his clients' needs.

“As an attorney, I think it’s important to not just solve legal problems, but to help my clients move past them. I am a problem-solver and it’s my job to solve what lies beyond the court issues of my clients," he says.

During this pandemic, Opdahl-Lopez has seen how important it is to increase accessibility to legal resources. “I just want to share whatever resources and information that I can,” he says. “Because of COVID-19, there is a lot of misinformation and confusion.”

Prior to opening his own law firm, Opdahl-Lopez worked as a Deputy Staff Judge Advocate in the Marine Corps and served active duty at Camp Pendleton for seven years.

In addition to working as an attorney, Opdahl-Lopez is a Major in the Marine Corps Reserve and a mentor through the Marine for Life Network. He is proud of his Marine Corps career and service and believes that his unique experience and background gives him diverse skill set and knowledge base.

In advance of the Legal Meet-Up, Opdahl-Lopez urges tenants and landlords to stay informed.

“Just this week, I received four calls about evictions. Because there is so much confusion about the moratorium on evictions, I suggest that tenants and landlords stay in tune with local court announcements. Also, it’s important to look up information published by the government. It’s hard to know what’s accurate, but your best source is any .gov website.”

Opdahl-Lopez is dedicated to serving the community in any capacity and will be answering any of your landlord-tenant questions at our June Legal Meet-Up. To sign up, click here or call us at (866) 999-9297.
